Beginning Nov. 15, log onto www.mermaidjinglejam.com and click on “Vote Now.” Follow the on-screen instructions to enter a valid e-mail address, select the Feeding America food bank in your area (or the food bank area of your choice) and vote for a semi-finalist. The contest voting period closes Dec. 9.
Three votes per e-mail address per day are allowed.

The grand-prize winner(s) of the Mermaid’s Jingle Jam will win a celebrity style trip to Universal Studios HollywoodSM – complete with a behind-the-scenes tour, airfare to Los Angeles, two nights stay at a star-studded hotel and dinner at a Hollywood hotspot! Plus, their local Feeding America food bank will be awarded $100,000 of Chicken of the Sea seafood.
Finalists will be notified on Nov. 8 and the grand-prize winner(s) will be notified on Dec. 10.
No, you do not need to vote for your local Feeding America food bank. While we encourage you to vote for someone close to where you live to better the chances of benefiting your nearest food bank, you can vote for an entry in any area by entering the entrant’s correct zip code or state, or entrant ID number.

To help ensure the integrity of the Mermaid Jingle Jam contest, we have added several security measures. We have been analyzing all votes retroactive to when voting opened and some finalists’ total scores have been adjusted to account for invalid votes cast by invalid e-mail addresses. We will also be adjusting the vote totals periodically throughout the remainder of the contest voting, as well as once the voting has closed Dec. 9.
No, any votes removed from a finalists’ total score were found to be cast by invalid e-mail addresses. All votes from valid e-mail addresses are still included in the current scores.
We are analyzing all votes retroactive to when voting opened and adjusting such votes to account for invalid votes cast by invalid e-mail addresses. This process will continue to be implemented until the grand-prize winner is announced.
Chicken of the Sea will be continuing to adjust the vote totals periodically throughout the remainder of the contest voting, as well as once the voting has closed Dec. 9. In order to accurately analyze all votes and remove any votes cast by invalid e-mail addresses, we will need to postpone the announcement of the grand-prize winner until on or around Dec. 12.
Due to high levels of Web site traffic, the Mermaid Jingle Jam Web site may experience momentary errors. If you receive an error message, please refresh your page, which will bring up a new code that should work correctly.
While all votes are being accurately counted, high levels of voter activity may cause the voting page to run slowly and affect the amount of time it takes for total scores to increase. Also, hitting the back button after voting may capture old scores that have not yet been updated.

The grand-prize winner was selected from the finalists through a period of online public voting. Beginning Nov. 15 and concluding Dec. 9, each voter was invited to visit the Web site and vote for his or her favorite jingle up to three times a day.
